1. Share. We begin by
sharing information—what are your values? What are your goals
in life? Are career goals important to you? How do you value time
spent with family and friends? Do you have other important responsibilities,
such as caring for an aging parent or relative? Do you have specific
financial goals? What do you expect from our business relationship?
These are a few of the questions we’ll cover in an initial
meeting. Sharing information helps us create more effective plans.
The more actively you participate in the process, the better the
plan.
2. Assess. We review your financial
records (a list of essential information will be provided at the
first meeting) in light of the information we shared at the initial
meeting. We then determine the best course of action for you in a customized
financial plan.
3. Review and Adjust. We meet again
soon after the initial discussion and discuss your financial plan.
Just as with a custom-made suit, we make adjustments based on a
second look at the “fit”. A good financial plan is steeped
in reality—the reality of your life—and is guided by
sound financial advice.
4. Implementation. We are able to
implement any steps recommended in the financial plan. (As Fee-Only planners, however, you are not obligated in any way to use our
investment services). We have professional relationships with an extensive
array of other business experts in the region, ranging from attorneys
and accountants to real estate and business management professionals,
should the need for specialized assistance arise. |
